Stallone has done his last stunt

When filming, Sylvester Stallone usually does his own stunts, and there’s no change in that in his latest film The Expendables. Although, now the actor can declare that after being injured during filming, he’s done doing his own stunts. You can see Sylvester Stallone doing several fighting scenes in the upcoming action film The Expendables, where he plays alongside musclemen like Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Mickey Rourke, Steve ‘Stone Cold’ Austin and Dolph Lundgren. Stallone has also directed the movie.

The reason why Stallone is forced to stop doing his own stunts, is that he seriously injured his shoulder and back during a fighting scene with the wrestler Steve ‘Stone Cold’ Austin. His doctor has declared that if he gets one more injury to his neck, he might end up in a wheelchair, or worse.

– I couldn’t do this again. This is it, there’s nothing left. I have had four operations since the film. The doctor says that if I hurt my neck again, that’s it – paralysis or worse. I don’t want to hear that but it’s a fact.

Now Stallone must begin looking for a stand-in for his upcoming films. The 64 year old are for instance planning on doing a new Rambo film, where he definately must do some stunts – however, now someone must do it for him.

– I guess I’ve got to get some look-a-likes, but I don’t like doing that. What made all the Rockys special is that, in 32 years, I never used a double.

The upcoming film, The Expendables, will be Stallone’s first film since Rambo back in 2008 – which he also directed. The Expendables premieres on August 10 in Las Vegas, and has an official premiere in USA on August 13.
